Week 2 Day 1

12 hours in a car really puts a damper on a healthy lifestyle. However, there are things that can be done to help you stay on track.  Just because you can’t workout doesn’t mean you should throw eating healthy out the window. What you put in your body matters for than the workouts anyway.

So Today I tried to watch what I was eating since I didn’t get a chance to workout at all today. 🙁 The eating portion didn’t go exactly as I would have hoped. I blame my husband for that! (He picked lunch)

I hate eating out!!

For breakfast we stopped at Starbucks. I usually would have gotten a sugar filled latte and a coffee cake. This time I chose to get a regular coffee with cream and a little sugar with oatmeal covered in mixed nuts and brown sugar. Overall, I would say that I did pretty well.

Lunch was where it went a little wrong. We stopped at Wendy’s because we couldn’t find much else near the interstate and were starving. So I had a a spicy chicken sandwich and fries. I’m a little sad to admit it but I am not going to let it ruin everything. I’ll just work a little harder tomorrow. To drink I had a half sweet and half unsweetened tea to drink.

One good thing is I didn’t eat all of the sandwich or drink all of the tea. I ate and drank about half of both.

Since we got home so late we also had to get dinner out. UGH!!! We tried to go a little healthier for dinner and we got subs from Firehouse. I had a turkey sandwich on white bread with a little mayo. Not the greatest but it could have been worse. Trying to stay positive here!

Getting Back on Track

Tomorrow is a new day and I couldn’t be happier! A fresh start to a new day is exactly what I need to get back on track. The fact that I had to backslide a little because life got in the way, will not stop all of the progress that I have already made.

If you had a bad day, don’t let it get you discouraged. There’s nothing you can do about it know. Just move on a try to work a little harder the next day or even the next week. Learn from your mistakes and make better choices. It helps if you look back on your progress. You’ve already gotten so far! Don’t give up on yourself now.

If you haven’t struggled just yet, think about my experience and lessons learned. Know that you can get through it and move on. There is no way you can follow the plans 100 percent of the time. It’s just not possible. Life happens and it’s okay as long as you don’t go back to your old unhealthy habits altogether!
