Week 1 Day 5

Well I’m a little late to post day 5.  If you read my day 4 post, you would know that we had to travel back home to where we are from to attend a funeral. This meant that we have to drive 12 hours after work on Friday in order to make it to the funeral on Saturday. So this has caused me to not have much time to be on the computer. I wanted to make sure that I spent some time with my family. For me, family should always come first!

However, I will be back on track this week. I am looking forward to be able to get back on track! I felt like I was making so much progress even with the first week!

Well here’s how day 4 went for me!

Morning workout

Circuit workout

  • 16:02 minutes
  • 99 calories burned
  • 142 avg bpm
  • 13 minutes cardio zone
  • 3 minutes fat burn zone

Not too bad!

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to complete my afternoon workout. Haven’t figured out how to workout while in the car. Someone really needs to come up with a way! lol Since we didn’t get to my parents house until 3:30 am and it was below zero. I really didn’t think it would be a good idea to go out for a run.

(Today I’m not able to post my health journal entry! 🙁 )

Staying healthy on the move:

I couldn’t exactly stick to my meal plan since dinner would have to be eaten in the car. However, I was proud of the choices I did make. Here’s what it looked like.

  • Breakfast, after workout: Smoothie and 2 hard-boiled eggs without the yolks
  • Morning snack: Kind Bar
  • Lunch: Protein Shake, 1/2 of an apple with 1/2 tbsp peanut butter
  • Afternoon Snack: Popcorn
  • Dinner: Turkey Sandwich from Panera  with the bag of chips (not the healthiest 🙁 ) and black tea with pure cane sugar.

So dinner could have been healthier but it was about making the best decision that I could make in the situation that we were in. My normal meal at Panera is the Mac n’ Cheese. So I’d say picking the Turkey Sandwich was a much better choice!

Life gives you lemons:

So one thing that I can take away from today is that it isn’t about always being perfect, it’s about doing what you can to be better! Once I found out that we had to make a quick trip home for an unfortunate circumstance, I knew that I wouldn’t be able to stick to my plans. There were going to be hard times to make good choices.

One thing that I have to remember is that life is about doing what you can and understand that sometimes you have to be flexible. Then just do the best you can with your given situation. If you are doing that, then you are in good shape!

I was proud of my choices today! I didn’t completely get off track! How about you???
