Week 1 Day 4

Well today may be short and sweet! My day has gotten a little crazy. You know, life happens and you just have to be okay with it.

Turns out we have to drive home (where we are from, not our physical home) for a funeral this weekend. A 12 hour drive Friday night and then driving back on Monday will throw a wrench in my healthy lifestyle. So be prepared for a few days of not so great results.

Let’s take this as a learning moment. You don’t have to eat perfectly and always have an amazing workout. Life will happen. The most important thing is that you try to make the best choices possible in any given situation and that’s what I plan to do this weekend. I will workout as much as possible and make the best choices when eating.

Enough about the future. Here’s a look at how my day went today!

Week 1 Day 4

Weight is lost in the kitchen:

I honestly didn’t have a problem eating healthy today. Surprisingly,I actually wanted to eat what I had planned. A few things had to change today due to the fact that I am a teacher and was running around like crazy trying to get things done during my morning prep period. So that means that my morning snack turned into my afternoon snack and my afternoon snack turned into my late afternoon snack.

Here’s what it looked like:

  • Breakfast (after workout)= Smoothie with 2 eggs with the yolks
  • Morning Snack = moved to my afternoon snack
  • Lunch = Protein shake and 1/2 an apple and 1/2 tbsp peanut butter
  • Afternoon snack = Kind bar
  • Late afternoon snack = popcorn
  • Dinner = turned into leftovers from the week because I have to pack
Any Extra’s?

Today I did drink another Amino shake during my prep period. It helps give me a natural boost! I also had a cup coffee in the afternoon. Coffee isn’t terrible. It has some health benefits when in moderation.

Making it burn

Well my morning workout was killer. I had to keep repeating in my head, “you can do this, you can do this.”

Here are the results of my circuit workout:

  • 12:14 minutes long
  • Burned 84 calories
  • 151 avg bpm
  • 5 minutes in the peak zone (YAY)
  • 7 minutes cardio zone

My run this afternoon was pretty rough as well. I didn’t drink enough water throughout the day so I got cramps early on in the run which affected my pace. Good news is I still pushed through and ran farther than I have all week! No excuses! At least I got off my bottom and got it done!

Here are the results:

  • 2.14 miles
  • 23:21 minutes (time when up but so did distance, so not bad)
  • 10’23” pace
  • 144 avg bpm
  • 168 calories burned
  • 2 minutes in peak
  • 17 minutes cardio
  • 5 minute fat burn zone

I’ll take it! I felt good after the run!

Take aways from today

Well today wasn’t perfect but I made the best out of my crazy busy day. I didn’t drink near enough water and didn’t get my morning snack in on time. Those days will come. It’s not about perfection, It’s about progress! Life will throw you curves, you might need to slow down to stay on the track but just keep looking forward and you’ll still get to your destination!

Tomorrow I need to:
  • Take my multivitamin (Gosh, Lyndsey, GET IT TOGETHER!)
  • Drink more water
  • Push extra hard during my morning workout since I won’t be able to go for a run in the afternoon.

Don’t forget to let me know how you did! If you missed them, check out Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3!
