Preparing for Week One

Welp, week one is upon us and I am spending my Sunday preparing and making sure I am ready to have a successful week!

If you are already a part of the “Get Healthy” challenge, then you know what I’m talking about! If you aren’t, I invite you to join us in our year-long journey to a healthy lifestyle. I’d love to have another accountability buddy!

What you will get is daily motivation, meal plans, and exercises. Not to mention, a FREE year-long health and fitness journal to help you keep track of your healthy (or not so healthy) choices. It will help you visually see your progress and be able to pick out reasons why you might not be making as much progress as you would like.

Monday – Mexican Chicken Stew by David Lieberman at Food Network

Tuesday – Fettuccine with Creamy Red Pepper-Feta Sauce by Ellie Krieger

(we added 97% lean Turkey to add protein)

Wednesday – Lemon Pepper Orzo with Chicken From the Food Network Kitchen

Thursday – Turkey Burger with Green Beans Recipe by Cooking Light and found on myrecipes.com

(for the green beans we boil and blanch them and then pan sear them with olive oil, fresh garlic, with salt and pepper)

Friday – Turkey Sloppy Joes on Pita Bread by Chef John found on allrecipes.com

Saturday – White Chili with Chicken by Diabetic Living Magazine found on eatingwell.com

Sunday – Leftovers (my favorite because you don’t have to cook! I’m a lazy girl at heart)

More Preparing..

I also spent the day printing out the week one portion of the health journal so it’s ready for me to start writing in tomorrow. Then I boiled my eggs for the week and got my lunch bag ready for tomorrow.

The more you do ahead of time the less excuses you have to not follow through with your plans!

Another thing I did was eat my last (at least for a while) Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup! 🙁 They are going to be hard to give up, but I know it’s for the best. My relationship with peanut butter cups is the equivalent to an unhealthy relationship with a man. You know they aren’t good for you and will hurt you in the end but you just can’t resist their temptation. AHHHH, I’m gonna need your help to not crawl back to those peanut butter cups when I get down!

So now that I broke it off with the peanut butter cups, I am all ready to get started bright and early tomorrow morning with my workout. ( to get my workout plans!)
