About Me

Hey there! Let me introduce myself, I’m Lyndsey the creator of Gaining Success Young.Gaining Success Young

I’m going to try my best here. I have never been very good when it comes to talking about myself. Plus, I’m a complete introvert and this is the equivalent to meeting for the first time which means I am extremely nervous. (Click here to learn more about my introvert ways!)

Not to mention, I have never been the best when it comes to writing. Not due to the fact that I have nothing to say or have no passion for it. It’s mostly because I am terrible when it comes to grammar. I try to catch my mistakes but I get so caught up in the message that I miss a few here and there. (I hope it’s only a few :/ ) haha opps!

Here’s where it all started…

About MeMy life began in a small town in Illinois. Ever since I can remember I have been a busy body. Constantly doing something. My schedule was full between volleyball, soccer, dance, or gymnastics. I never really learned how to just be still.

When I wasn’t involved in a sport I was working towards my ultimate goal of becoming a teacher. That started as playing “school” as a child. Then grew into mentoring in high school until being able to become a preschool teacher in a near by daycare.

I was constantly working hard towards my goals. I was bound and determined to lead a successful life!

The later years…

None of this stopped as I got older. Things just changed a bit. I stayed close to home and went to college to become a About Meteacher. Throughout college I continued to play volleyball. I learned a lot about myself and my life changed drastically.

Through a bad breakup I learned how to be me and love myself. I had a tough coach that taught me to be okay with not being perfect. After meeting my now husband I learned what complete happiness is. Meeting my very best friend I taught me how to dance like no one is watching. Then after many mistakes I learned that I am human and it’s okay. I learned to get up and try again a different, better way.

During all these life lessons, I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I got a job as a Pre-K teacher shortly after graduation. At this school I found my true passion for early childhood education. This same passion lead me to later get my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. (It’s also part of the reason I came up with the name Gaining Success Young)

In the NOW…

About MeAll this lead to me to where I am in life right now! I am working full time as a preschool Director in sunny Florida! (Oh boy do I love it!) Waiting at home for me are my two husky puppies (not really puppies anymore) and my husband who is a Naval Officer in flight school, training to be a pilot.

Blogging has been something very new to me. Going from being a teacher who planned and graded pretty much non-stop to a preschool director who doesn’t have much work to take home was a hard transition.

I found myself bored at home especially when my husband was studying. Which is pretty much all the time now! I needed something to keep busy and something that I enjoy doing. Blogging is exactly that for me.

The birth of Gaining Success Young

As I started planning my blog I knew that I wanted my passion for children and early success in life to be a part of it. I also About Mewanted it to be about helping create happiness in life. Using my life lessons and early learning I wanted help others gain success young. By young I mean two things 1) helping parents help their children grow and develop the skills needed to become successful in life and 2) Helping young parents create a happy and healthy life for themselves. Which to me is true success. And there was my title, tagline and my purpose.
